About Alcuin Languages

Alcuin Languages simply specialises in structured language courses

Founded in 2009 by Susan Valdar, Alcuin Languages provides simply structured language courses which are as informative and educational as they are engaging and entertaining: language courses which are specifically tailored to the needs of adults and teenagers.

Alcuin Languages Clubs for Kids are face-to-face, fun (and carefully structured) language clubs for pre-teens.

Susan is a graduate of the University of York, one of the U.K's top universities, where she studied Linguistics (the science of language) with Language Acquisition, German and Mandarin Chinese. She has also studied Linguistics (Sprachwissenschaft) at the University of Vienna and French at the Sorbonne in Paris. Susan has had a successful business career, working for British, German and American companies based in London. She also taught for many years at Croydon College's Business School.

All Alcuin Languages courses are developed in conjunction with native speakers of the target language. The correspondence courses are supported by trained native speakers and by qualified language graduates. The certificates of achievement are marked and awarded by trained native speakers and by qualified language graduates. All the audio is voiced by native speakers of the target language.
